Energy is the single most powerful engine of growth and prosperity in our society today. The sharp rise and fall in U.S. prices over the past year and a half has dramatically affected our economy. Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to spend unprecedented amounts of money importing oil and natural gas at the expense of our economy, security, and our low-carbon future.
At Dow, we firmly believe our country needs a comprehensive national energy policy that is bolder and bipartisan. That’s why we’ve taken the initiative to create Dow Energy Plan for America. This plan details the Company's belief that swift action on energy policy is needed to:

Four Basic Steps
Our plan has four main steps that if adopted, will help boost the U.S. economy while accelerating our transition to a environmentally friendly future. These steps include:
- Encouraging aggressive energy efficiency and conservation
- Increasing and diversifying our domestic energy supplies
- Accelerating the development of alternative and renewable energy
- Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
